Practical contribution to sustainable development

All these years the way of building the Kofinas company was designed to contribute to solving global environmental problems, such as CO2 emission, the greenhouse effect, global warming and the imbalance of natural resources.

Our company is fighting to minimize them negative environmental effects, enhancing efficiency and moderation in the use of materials, energy and development space. More simply, the idea of sustainable development is to ensure that our actions and decisions today do not hinder the opportunities of future generations.

We achieve it with three main directions:

1. Environmental sustainability

The strategic planning of our constructions is done with the aim of reducing greenhouse gases, during the production of the raw materials of a house, during its construction and its lifetime.

2. Bioclimatic design

The house is designed to ensure conditions of thermal and visual comfort. For this purpose it utilizes solar energy, the local climate, as well as the properties of building materials and architectural elements.

3. Financial sustainability

The house is designed to save money over its lifetime because:
a) its construction method reduces the need to use heating and cooling energy
b) any costs for its future maintenance are nullified.
