  • The timber used for the frame is Swedish pine, planed and furnaced, C24 class. It does not contain chemical substances and it is one of the top choices worldwide.
  • For the connections, we use TORX screws which are robotically installed, thus having zero loosening margin through time.
  • Each wall is sealed on each side with Canadian OSB from LP factory, which offers exceptional mechanical strength. It also offers high impact strength and allows us to load weights without fear.

The basic heat-insulating material of masonry. The natural mineral wool offers excellent thermal insulation, sound insulation and fire resistance (category A1-non-combustible materials). Raw materials for the production of mineral wool fiber are the rocks amphibolite, dolomite, or limestone and bauxite. Mineral wool is produced in an electric oven. This method is advantageous, over the blast furnace method applied until now, because dimensional uniformity is achieved in the produced fibers through the constantly controlled temperature of the melt and it yields a zero burden on the environment in contrast to that of the blast furnace.

Masonry timber, which is:

  • Swedish: which means it is very compact.
  • Pine: which means greater resistance to moisture.
  • Dryer: which means that the wood is cured for weeks and disinfected naturally and not chemically (like green wood), while the humidity reaches the ideal, for residential construction, level of 15-16%.
  • Ecological: which means that the wood does not contain chemical loads and that the policy of the Swedish Wood Industry contributes to the absorption of carbon dioxide.
  • Planned: which means that it has perfectly flat surfaces, which, in combination with the factory connections, achieve absolute assembly and zero joints in all the construction parts of the house.
  • FSC CoC: Which means that this wood comes from controlled forests in which for every tree that is cut down, 3 more are planted in its place. 
  • Class C24: which means that it has very high mechanical strengths showing up to 80% a higher load-bearing capacity than ordinary construction timber.

The KOFINAS company makes special orders for the masonry base from Sweden.  

The waterproofing of the base of the wall is carried out using a impregnated beam, type NP5. The wood maintenance class A and AB (Class A and Class B) of the wood we supply implies the treatment carried out in accordance with the penetration class NP5 which is configured according to the SS-EN 351-1 standard. In this way, the base of the masonry is protected from damage that could be caused by possible moisture in the base from the concrete, improving the durability of the house over time.
