The masonry timber, which is:

• FSC: certified timber
• Swedish: which means it is very compact
• Pine: which means greater resistance to moisture.
• Drying room: which means that the wood is baked for weeks and undergoes natural disinfestation rather than chemical (like green wood), while the humidity reaches the ideal level of 15-16% for residential construction.
• Ecological: meaning that the timber does not contain chemical loads and that the policy of the Swedish Wood Industry contributes to the absorption of carbon dioxide.
• Planed: which means that it has perfectly flat surfaces, which in combination with the factory connections, achieve perfect fit and zero joints in all the structural parts of the house.
• Class C24: which means that it has very high mechanical strength, demonstrating up to 80% higher load-bearing capacity than ordinary construction timber.

The certification FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) refers to an international certification system that confirms that the timber comes from managed forests that meet high environmental, social and economic standards. The certification FSC ensures that for every tree cut, trees are planted 3 new ones in its place.

The company KOFINAS places special orders for the masonry base from Sweden.  

The waterproofing of the wall base is carried out using an impregnated beam, type NP5. The wood preservation category A and AB (Class A and Class B) of the timber we supply implies that the treatment is carried out in accordance with the penetration class NP5 which is formulated with the SS-EN 351-1 standard. This protects the base of the masonry from damage that could be caused by possible moisture in the base from the concrete, improving the durability of the residence.

In the masonry is placed:

• OSB: Category 3-APA from the LP

– Factory LP: Of American origin with exclusive imports to Greece for KOFINAS SA.

In masonry and in the construction of the terrace as well as on roofs it is placed OSB of the factory LP, of American origin with exclusive imports, category 3- APA with enormous mechanical properties. This material statically strengthens the masonry and enables us to fix any weight to any point on the wall, without the need for a special dowel.

The company KOFINAS carries out special orders for OSB with special dimensions, so that it covers the entire vertical side of the wall without joints, for additional air-waterproofing, as proven in the experiments of the Polytechnic, the masonry is fully shielded with each sheet OSB(without adding an extra piece) OSB.

KOFINA's ventilation units:

• they constitute the new generation in home ventilation.

These innovative ventilation systems constitute our competitive core, because with integrated heat recovery they not only renew the ventilation of the home but also recover heat.

With the special humidity sensors that the ventilation system has:

• They remove excess moisture from the interior spaces to the environment outside the home.

Also, at a programmed time (via a timer), ventilation is switched on, bringing in fresh filtered air from the outside environment.

A 2-system system is installed in the bathrooms.

• Humidity and movement. The system senses if there is excess humidity and removes it from the interior of the home and also monitors whether the atmosphere is filtered and clean during use.

The company's masonry COCKPIT has been tested on the earthquake bank of NTUA, in a three-story physical scale model, which was stressed in an earthquake of 1G, which corresponds to 9+ on the Richter scale.
