Anticipating the market's needs for cheaper homes, which would be delivered to the customer faster and would be superior in quality compared to conventional constructions, he studies structural systems and materials.

After the company's dynamic start, the demands for further organization and development brought Michalis Kofinas to the company, thus laying the foundations of the Kofinas brothers' career in the construction industry.

Then the search for permanent collaborators, engineers and technicians begins to ensure a stable and upward course. It is no coincidence that since 1980 many of the company's executives have been working at KOFINAS O.E. and continue to share the same vision with us.

At the same time, the company is building the first factory in Markopoulo, which increases the production of prefabricated houses, but also mass-produces smaller houses, which are transported ready-made by cranes.

The company KOFINAS O.E., responding to the increase in demands and with an emphasis on improving the services provided to the customer, is expanding its showroom in Agia Paraskevi, while also creating new ones on Markopoulou Avenue. It is worth noting that the new showrooms also gave the customer the opportunity to choose individual materials that would include his home.

Then comes the construction of houses that were transported by cranes, since now the company KOFINAS OE is relying on prefabricated houses that it builds on site on the plot.

Having already built thousands of houses, the company does not rest. The continuous research and exploration in the field of prefabricated houses, mainly through various exhibitions and engineers from abroad, constantly improve the quality of construction. The company now even selects from abroad the best raw materials for the construction of houses.

In 1993, to demonstrate its pioneering role in the field of prefabrication, it organized for the first time in Greek history an Exhibition of Prefabricated Housing, which took place in the courtyard of the Zappeion mansion.

From 2000, the new generation of the Kofinas family will take on key positions in the company (Kostas Kofinas: foreman, Pigi Kofinas: accounting, Evgenia Kofinas – architecture).
The thirst of the family and its partners for the evolution of the existing construction, combined with specialized static studies and German engineers, create the unique screw masonry system in Europe.

Prefabricated houses that were built on site are a thing of the past. Now the masonry is transported ready-made to the site with privately owned cranes,
since the company's factory is being further upgraded with machines that angle, press and test each wall individually.

However, the company is not only developing technically but also commercially. In 2004, it reconstructed its showrooms in Agia Paraskevi and Markopoulou Avenue and at the same time created a sales network in Greece and abroad. Now KOFINAS O.E. exports its masonry and its foremen-engineers are sent abroad at regular intervals for supervision and for research into construction technologies.

The unique building system of the company KOFINAS O.E. is being tested for its durability at the National Technical University of Athens, exceeding every natural limit of durability. The construction surprised experts and scientists who spoke publicly about the quality and technology of the company.
The company's vast experience in wooden constructions and continuous technological research, mainly abroad, led the company KOFINAS to deal with wooden Finnish houses. The company now imports the best quality timber in Europe for the construction of Finnish log houses. To prove their quality to the customer, the company is expanding its exhibition on Markopoulou Avenue by constructing Finnish houses.

The company is undoubtedly the reference center in the developments of prefabricated buildings. This is the reason why engineers, students and technical schools visit the company's exhibitions and constructions to study and learn about the constructions.

The Kofinas brothers, despite their objective reputation in the construction market, are not complacent in continuing their upward climb. They attend the largest European exhibitions, such as BAU in Germany, emphasizing the construction of larger buildings (commercial buildings, office buildings, etc.) and proceed with the research of modern construction solutions.

This technological progress is also verified by the new experimental research of the three-story KOFINA structure. The experiment, which was carried out in the technical office of the internationally esteemed Professor of the National Technical University of Athens, P. Karydis, confirmed the uniqueness of the structure and the name of our company.

The further modernization of the company is achieved with the construction of a new office building in Agia Paraskevi. At the same time, the company will present the new Flexyhome residential series. The Flexyhome series was created by the company with the aim of offering home buyers an economical solution, which, however, is not inferior in technology and quality.

By creating exclusive dealerships, importing vast quantities of raw materials, and prefabricating most of the construction in bulk in our company’s factory, we were able to reduce construction costs without compromising on quality. From the Swedish timber frame to the last link, the Flexyhome construction proved that the best is not always the most expensive.

The Kofinas company is upgraded to a S.A. At the same time, it creates a network of representatives in Greece and Europe, while for the first time the export of prefabricated houses abroad begins.

At the same time, its building system is evolving technologically and qualitatively based on ecology and sustainable development. Both the masonry of the structures and the roof are reinforced with ecological materials ensuring optimal energy performance. This optimal energy performance will be the basis for the first time for the company KOFINAS S.A. for the construction of certified passive buildings.

So once again, without further ado, innovation is evident, with the new factory of KOFINA S.A. which will house her vision which has been operating since early 2020. In collaboration with the National Technical University of Athens, in February 2022, the KOFINAS company tested again on a physical scale using a seismic simulator.

The 2022 experiment is a continuation of the statics experiment conducted in November 2009, during which a single-story test house of the company, entering the seismic simulator, withstood up to 1.5 g of acceleration and remained intact.

For this reason, the KOFINAS company wanted to seal this result and go one step further.

Thus, in 2022, he carried out a statics experiment on a three-story full-size test specimen in the seismic simulator at the NTUA, loading it with seismic acceleration stresses of 1G, which is equivalent to 9+ on the Richter scale, without present a fault.

The company, after the modernization and innovation it achieved through its new factory, which already houses its vision, announced its new export series to Europe, the Fertighauskit series.

It created exclusive representations in foreign markets (such as Germany, etc.) and, by manufacturing KIT masonry in the factory, it exports them to the foreign market.

The high quality of construction resulting from thorough research and experiments in collaboration with the National Technical University of Athens and the low cost are two factors that make the company competitive in the global market compared to the competition.

2025 marks a new, strategic phase for KOFINAS SA, with the establishment of a dedicated Export & International Markets Department (Export Manager Office). This department has the mission to systematically organize and manage the company's export activity in international markets, as well as to develop comprehensive relationships with our foreign representatives.
