The Passive Building <strong>it is not a brand, but a design philosophy<\/strong> which is open to all and this has been proven in practice. Therefore, the passive house and building is <strong>more than just an energy efficient building or a simple energy house<\/strong>. heat for heating the house.<\/p>\n<p>This &quot;free&quot; heat is produced by all electrical appliances, such as ovens, refrigerators, computers, lamps, etc. <strong>building envelope<\/strong> of a passive house must be very good <strong>insulated and airtight<\/strong>, so that this &quot;free&quot; heat does not leave the interior of the house unused.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"uk-grid uk-margin-large-top\">\n<div class=\"uk-width-medium-1-2\">\n<dl class=\"uk-description-list uk-description-list-line uk-text-justify\">\n<dt><span class=\"uk-badge uk-badge-danger uk-badge-notification\">1<\/span> <strong>Insulation<\/strong><\/dt>\n<dd>A properly insulated building shell, during the winter, keeps the heat inside the building, while in the summer it prevents it from entering it.<\/dd>\n<dt><span class=\"uk-badge uk-badge-danger uk-badge-notification\">2<\/span> <strong>Windows<\/strong><\/dt>\n<dd>Properly designed, insulated and installed frames contribute to the optimal utilization of solar gains.<\/dd>\n<dt><span class=\"uk-badge uk-badge-danger uk-badge-notification\">3<\/span> <strong>Ventilation with Energy Recovery<\/strong><\/dt>\n<dd>Passive Building ventilation systems provide clean air, free of pollen and dust, with maximum energy efficiency through heat recovery and humidity control.<\/dd>\n<dt><span class=\"uk-badge uk-badge-danger uk-badge-notification\">4<\/span> <strong>Air tightness<\/strong><\/dt>\n<dd>Passive buildings are designed in such a way as to avoid air leaks in the building shell, thus increasing energy efficiency and preventing the occurrence of drafts and moisture damage.<\/dd>\n<dt><span class=\"uk-badge uk-badge-danger uk-badge-notification\">5<\/span> <strong>Thermal bridges<\/strong><\/dt>\n<dd>The minimization of thermal bridges and weak points in the building shell contributes to the creation of a pleasant and stable temperature, while eliminating moisture damage, while increasing energy efficiency.<\/dd>\n<\/dl><\/div>\n<div class=\"uk-width-medium-1-2\">      <a data-uk-lightbox=\"{group:'passive-house-work'}\" data-lightbox-type=\"image\" href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/kofinas\/passive-house\/passive-house-work-2.jpg\" data-lbwps-width=\"980\" data-lbwps-height=\"980\" data-lbwps-srcsmall=\"https:\/\/www.kofinas.gr\/wp-content\/uploads\/kofinas\/passive-house\/passive-house-work-2.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"uk-align-medium-right\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/kofinas\/passive-house\/passive-house-work-2.jpg\" alt=\"The 5 basic principles of passives\"><\/a>  <\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Shading, Night Natural Ventilation, Light Geothermal Air and Correct Planning of the thermal mass contribute to the best performance of passive buildings in Mediterranean climates.<\/p>\n<hr class=\"uk-grid-divider\">\n<h3>So, descriptively what happens is the following:<\/h3>\n<div class=\"uk-grid\">\n<div class=\"uk-width-medium-1-2\">\t\t<a data-uk-lightbox=\"{group:'passive-house-work'}\" href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/kofinas\/passive-house\/passive-house-work-3.jpg\" data-lbwps-width=\"960\" data-lbwps-height=\"953\" data-lbwps-srcsmall=\"https:\/\/www.kofinas.gr\/wp-content\/uploads\/kofinas\/passive-house\/passive-house-work-3.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/kofinas\/passive-house\/passive-house-work-3.jpg\" alt=\"Illustrated description of a passive building\"><\/a>    <\/div>\n<div class=\"uk-width-medium-1-2\">\n<ul class=\"uk-text-justify\">\n<li>One <strong>mechanical ventilation system <\/strong>with one <strong>heat exchanger <\/strong>air - air, is installed so that it can simultaneously bring <strong>fresh air<\/strong> and subtract a corresponding amount <strong>stale air<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>In winter the cold exterior <strong> clean Air <\/strong>enters the exchanger, receives the heat of the rejected <strong>stale air<\/strong> and enters the house.<\/li>\n<li>In the summer the exported <strong>stale air<\/strong> cools the warmer incoming <strong>fresh air<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>In the winter the warm <strong>stale air<\/strong> that leaves the house, &quot;carries&quot; the &quot;free&quot; heat, which through the exchanger heats the <strong>fresh air <\/strong>who enters the house. Correspondingly, the cold in the summer <strong>stale air<\/strong> it will cool the heat exchanger <strong>fresh air<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>In case the above system is combined with geothermal energy (o <strong>clean Air<\/strong> to diffuse first from the earth and then go to the exchanger,) the profits in both winter and summer are multiplied.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Installing a conventional heating and cooling system can be avoided<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n            \n            \n            \n            \n            \n        <\/div>\n    <\/li>\n\n\n    \n    <li>\n        <div class=\"uk-panel\">\n\n            \n            \n                        <h3 class=\"uk-panel-title\">Costs and profits<\/h3>\n            \n            \n                        <div class=\"uk-margin\"><div class=\"uk-grid\">\n<div class=\"uk-width-medium-1-4\">\t<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"uk-align-left\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/kofinas\/passive-house\/passive-house-price-benefits-1.gif\" alt=\"Passive house price benefits\">      <\/div>\n<div class=\"uk-width-medium-3-4\">\n<p class=\"uk-text-justify\">As an example, the cost of a passive house of 100 sq.m. is against <strong>10% larger<\/strong> from a typical house of our company. This extra cost is negligible if you compare it to the <strong>energy saving<\/strong> which we achieve with a passive house. Not only will we pay for it immediately, but we will benefit significantly since the annual energy needs of the passive house are negligible.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<h3>What benefits does one get from implementing a passive house?<\/h3>\n<p class=\"uk-text-justify\">The benefits are manifold \u2013 there is <strong>great energy savings<\/strong>, which translates into a reduction in expenses. The needs of the residence for heating and heating are zero. On top of that, in a passive house the <strong>quality of life improves<\/strong> vertically, since the <strong>constant temperature conditions<\/strong> and <strong>the constant renewal of inhaled air<\/strong> have a positive impact on the health and well-being of residents.
