Participation of the Research and Development department of KOFINAS SA in the acoustics seminar in architecture
Knauf insulation, 18-11-2021, held the second part of the seminar on: “ACOUSTICS IN ARCHITECTURE – PART TWO: ACOUSTICS IN PRACTICE”. The main speakers of the seminar were Mr. Tassos Argyris, Head of Technical Support Knauf Insulation, Mechanical Engineer. MEng./MSc. Dr. Giannis Kontoulis, General Manager of Knauf Insulation as well as Mr. Maro Puljizević, acoustic specialist, Project Manager of Acoustics in the Research & Development department of Knauf Insulation.
The Research & Development department of KOFINAS SA, which consists of Mechanical Engineers, Civil Engineers and Architect Engineers, participated in the seminar to enrich their knowledge about acoustics to be able to develop new and more effective technologies in its construction. masonry KOFINAS.
The first part of the seminar described the positive aspects of acoustics, which go beyond simply complying with any regulations and include concepts such as health, comfort, space functionality, impact on productivity.
In the second part they focused on every aspect of the acoustic design that concerns the buildings as they referred to ways and solutions for their correct application which will ensure the desired result for:
1. The correct acoustics of the space
2. The protection from external noises
3. The protection of the users of the building from noises of the internal installations of the same
4. The protection of the surrounding area from noise created by our own building
Conclusion: Good acoustic design is important everywhere, regardless of the type of building. Good acoustics are not just for operas and theaters, they are a critical aspect of residential buildings, schools, hospitals, offices, commercial and dining venues.
